Back in the early 1990s a gentleman in Virginia became famous in Porsche circles for his cars that won PCA Parade Concours. Charlie Hunter loved Porsches so much that he would order a new limited production Porsche with very unusual options or colors. With the help and experience of Weldon Scrogham, these car were prepared so fabulously that at one point he won three Manhattan Trophies (for “best-in-show”) with his extremely clean new cars. In fact, those victories led the Porsche Club of America to do away with the Manhattan Trophy and institute the current groupings of Preparation (new cars), Restoration, and Preservation. This 1992 Turbo was at the front end of Charlie Hunter’s victory streak. It was special-ordered in Ferrari Fly Yellow – the only 92 Turbo so delivered, along with matching wheels and seat piping. Upon delivery Charlie drove the car to San Diego and won his class at the 1992 Parade – that after driving 3,000 miles! We believe that this Turbo is the best 3.3 liter (315-horsepower) in existence and truly one of a kind. The car was last shown in 2004 with 14,000 miles showing when it won for the 5th time. It was then retired to a private collection until just becoming available on the public market for the first time ever. This Turbo is stunning, is in absolutely pristine condition, and could win concours again with only a little preparation. If you ever wanted a traffic-stopping Porsche, this is it. Call us.
