Matching numbers 356A Coupe Vin: 101049 Engine: P66242 Originally painted Aquamarine Blue (paint code 5707) from the factory.
This 356A coupe had a complete engine rebuild using the original case 66242 in 2005. The engine was built to “S” specs using super heads, stronger “B” rods, and a super crank. The carburetors were changed over to Weber’s for better performance. The engine has about 9,000 miles since the rebuild. A new clutch was installed, as well as a new starter when the engine was rebuilt. The exhaust was upgraded to the rare four tip Abarth unit.
Five brand new Michelin XZX’s were installed on five date stamped 5/57 wheels. Overall, the gaps on all the closing panels are very good and above average. The vehicle was repainted using the DuPont system along with the DuPont epoxy primer. It was a good job but now there are some bubbles on the doorsills and a rock chips on the front end from driving. The floors and battery box were have replaced and done well. This is a nice driving 356A coupe with an affordable price tag.
